Submission Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in Ruptures + Repairs. As a platform dedicated to envisioning a feminist future through multi-media approaches, we are accepting submissions of multiple forms, including essays, short stories, poems, short films, and visual art.

 We encourage innovative and radical takes on these themes. In doing so, please consider these guidelines to facilitate the submission process.

Those submitting essays are encouraged to submit their 250-word abstract along with their essay (word limit: 5000 words)  to rupturesrepairs@gmail.com. For those who are interested in poetry, comics, zine pages, short stories, graphic or visual art, and videos, please submit your 250-word abstract along with your work to rupturesrepairs@gmail.com

 Formatting: 

For essay submissions, citation styles should adhere to the most updated Chicago Manual of Style and follow standard submission format (double spaced, 1” margins, 12-pt font.) Please submit your abstract/written piece as a Word Document. Your submission should be original and not under consideration with other blogs or publications. All submissions should relate to the theme at hand.

For those who are submitting works artistic in nature, please submit a high-resolution electronic file of the artwork, or a link to the video for review (through google drive, hosting: embed Vimeo or YouTube video). Images should be at least 300 dpi. Short stories should be between 2,000-5,000 words. Short films should be a maximum of thirty (30) minutes in duration. 

Contributors are responsible for acquiring permission for the usage of photographs, illustrations, or any other property prior to submission. 

Please also include a short biography (50 words maximum) with your submission. Include any information you find is relevant to your submission.


Ruptures + Repairs reserves the right to make editorial changes to accepted materials.
